Braunstone Town Library is situated on the Kingsway, next to Braunstone Civic Centre. Due to financial challenges facing local government, Leicestershire County Council have been consulting on alternative ways of running their community libraries. Having rejected other plans at prior stages, the library was under threat of closure. At this stage a group of Leicestershire Libraries staff who have formed an independent social enterprise, Fabula Reading, proposed a model that relies on providing specialist services around reading for pleasure from the building, to help retain the core library function in Braunstone Town.
This website is run by Fabula Reading, and contains information about our plans, information about opportunities to meet with us, and includes a contact form for people in the community to ask questions or tell us what is most important to them.
